Christmas party

This year we have enjoyed some wonderful circles, met even more beautiful like-minded women, flexed our creative muscles and expanded our Sacred Essence circle to a second gathering each month at Biggera Waters. We have also birthed our first, very successful parenting course and follow up workshop and tonight we celebrate!

Our Christmas party for Sacred Women will be held at Mandala Organic Arts Cafe, Gold Coast Hwy, Mermaid Beach.  We will meet at 7pm.  Join us for song, craft, an end of year Christmas blessing, some great feasting and of course lots of divine goddess company.  Only cost is your meal and beverages.

If you would like to attend and you haven't rsvp'd as yet, please do so as soon as you can so we can confirm numbers with the cafe.  Email: feelingloved@sacredessencecircle.com

Effective Parenting Course

We warmly invite you to attend a weekend of focusing on your parenting in a supportive group environment with plenty of discussion, creative planning and a way forward to achieving the family life you desire! The Effective Parenting model and practical skills offered in this course are designed for families with children of all ages, not just the very young ones. This course will help you clarify your family vision and your role within it.  It will support you to make positive adjustments where you feel they are needed in your family life and
encourage you to approach parenting with an attitude of lifelong learning.

Course facilitators and Silkwood parents, Melissa Joss and Jennifer McCormack share backgrounds in early years education, creative arts therapy and personal development. Alongside their monthly women’s circles, this parenting course aims to help you feel a bit better nourished, and a whole lot more inspired to be creative about your parenting so that you can enjoy the journey with your whole family.

The Effective Parenting model presented in this 2-day course is influenced by Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Silkwood’s three-phase teaching and learning methodology, principles of creative arts therapy, as well as Melissa and Jennifer’s combined teaching and parenting experience.

In this course:

  •  Participants will gain the skills to discover, honour and support their own pathway as a family.
  • Participants will gain a model to support and ease everyday family experiences.
  • Participants will learn techniques to review and reflect upon parenting experiences while in-the-moment.
  • Participants will gain a support network of parents.

COURSE DATES:  Saturday and Sunday, 20-21 October
TIME:  9.00am – 3.00pm
LOCATION:  Silkwood School, Shepherd Hill Lane, Mt Nathan, Gold Coast, QLD
COST:

September Circle - Inner Strength

Quiet I bear within me
I bear within myself
Forces to make me strong
Now I will be imbued with their glowing warmth
Now I will fill myself
With my own will's resolve
And I will feel the quiet
Pouring through all my being
When by my steadfast striving
I become strong
To find within myself
The strength of inner calm
- R. Steiner-

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have called on all your reserves of emotional strength, rational thinking, and inner conviction? We make it through that experience, give it everything we've got, and then possibly collapse in a heap. If we are repeatedly faced with these stressful circumstances, collapsing in a heap may not be an option in order to continue functioning.  We may often feel we have to push through and keep going... What we really need is to listen to our internal guidance to stop pushing, to re-align ourselves energetically, to attend to our emotional bodies as well as our physical needs.  If we don't, we lose our strength and our wellbeing and we may manifest a bigger reason to listen - either a physical one such as chronic pain, illness or an emotional one such as depression, anxiety, or anger.

Our circles for September are coming up and this month we'll be exploring the idea of supporting our inner strength and aligning our energetic, emotional and physical selves. What are the inner muscles we use for endurance and which ones do we reserve for the extreme moments? How can we use our internal guidance so that we have both endurance AND strength for when we need them?

We'll be exploring these ideas through story, song, movement and watercolour painting this month. We also begin our felting project for those who would like to make themselves a personalised felt mat - your own little handmade island of peace.

Hello Sacred Women,
Our next circle, scheduled for this coming Thursday evening, will instead be held next Thursday 16th August.  We are proud to announce a bit of a change of format this Spring...

For WOMEN this Spring
To  offer you even greater rewards for investing in your own SELF CARE on the path of greater self knowing, we have decided to give our beautiful women friends  the opportunity to choose from three wonderfully creative projects.  Each project will be seasonal.  This means you may stretch your project over several circles, and while you are working on a project, your circle admission is halved to just $10.  Projects are available in kits so that everything you need is provided for you.  Just come along to circle and it will be here for you to continue each month.  Each project is designed to encourage your own self expression and personal enrichment process, remembering that you will be guided by our qualified creative arts therapist and experienced teachers.  We are here to support your spiritual wellbeing and provide you with a range of inspiring personal growth opportunities.
The first three projects to choose from are:
Felted Meditation Mat  ($60)
Be guided by our experienced fibre artist Jennifer McCormack and creative arts therapist Melissa Joss to design and create your very own sacred meditation space.  Select from a range of colours and design inspirations to wet felt and (later needle felt to detail )this beautiful original and completely functional art piece!

Mother Nature Talisman ($60)
Using a selection of Mother Nature’s treasures, you will design and produce your very own unique sacred talisman.  Your talisman may take the shape of a crystal staff, wind/ sun catcher, lucky charm, piece of jewellery – the choices are limitless!  This is a sacred piece masterfully designed by your Higher Self, created by you, to serve as a reminder that we are each on a sacred journey with the freedom to choose our reactions in each powerful, present moment!

Wall Art Piece ($60)
Choose from a variety of creative modes to paint, felt, collage, draw, sew, etc. your own sacred design.  We will be encouraging the creation of your own Higher Self Portrait in this project, however if you feel strongly drawn to creating another image of great significance and meaning to you, then this too is enthusiastically supported.

Walking through Winter

Dear Women Friends,

Our July circle has been set for Thursday 19th  where we will continue our journey through the winter, walking mindfully, looking after ourselves with care each step of the way.  Our first part in this two-part series saw us lovingly wrapped in chamomile compresses and cocooned in warmth and tenderness.  We explored our inner life and spirit with chalk pastel drawing and enjoyed a beautiful meditation to our star of truth.  It was such a lovely night and will be topped once again, with another unique experience.  No circle is ever the same and this circle will not disappoint.  We are very pleased to be sharing in some wisdom with our lovely naturopath Cindi Young who will speak about women’s health through the season of winter.  We will lift our vibration with some music and be immersed in some gentle movement, creative arts and soul treats (of course!).
So please join us!  You know You and Your sacred essence deserves a little honouring!

Where    Silkwood School Prep Room
               Shepherd Hill Lane, Mt Nathan

Winter Cocoons - Our 2-Circle Special on Winter Health

Do you feel Winter? The cold can bring out the best and the worst of us, and like Summer, it is a time of extreme where the seasonal change brings us into an awareness of our body and how it works.

The time to begin immune preparation to support our bodies through Winter has passed, but we can still support our immune system as best we can through these cold months.

The next two Sacred Essence Circles will be exploring the theme of transformation. We will be cocooning - wrapping ourselves in a sheath of warmth and self-love to honour and support the process of transformation that occurs within us every Winter.

Our first Circle in this series, is this coming THURSDAY night (14 June). We will literally wrap ourselves up warm and tight in a cocoon of cotton and snuggly blankets as we learn the technique of anthroposophical compresses. This is a wonderful and deeply nurturing healing process that you MUST experience for yourself so that you can learn how to share it with your family. After a series of yoga movements we'll experience deep relaxation within our own cocoons, focusing on facilitating the positive transformation of our essential self. This process will help us feel how important it is to fully relax and let go in order to strengthen our inner reserves, so that when the time comes to struggle out through our Winter cocoons we may emerge into the Spring with new vitality.

Our July Circle (July 12) will be exploring ways we can care for our own bodies and our families through the practical application of natural health, with our guest naturopath Cindi Young. The two Circles are running together and we really want you to make the most of this opportunity to focus on your self care so we are offering the two circles together as a special for $30. You can book ahead to make sure you can come to both.

For the June Circle you will need to bring with you a few items:
  • a single-sized cotton sheet
  • a single-sized warm blanket (preferably wool)
  • a yoga mat
  • a pillow
  • drink bottle
  • wear warm clothing and make sure you have socks or slippers for your feet :)

May Circle: Untangling and Uplifting

Circle time again, didn't this one sneak up on us?! Our circle is Thursday night this week - May 9th and we'll be gathering in the warm and nourishing room at Silkwood together once more.

This week we will be looking at ways to raise our vibration - to lift ourselves up and back into a place where our soul feels active, expressive and free. We all slip from time to time, and now and then we all feel a bit tangled up in other energies that clutter up the path to our natural state of being.

source: http://knitfreedom.com
Sometimes it is in the way we look at things and use things: those energetic tangles that are stopping us from functioning at our best can be undone, rededicated and re-woven with purpose back into our lives to uplift and support us. We'll be doing some untangling together, some rededicating and then some nesting - creating purposeful tangles as homes for our soul with the energies that serve us.

You are very welcome to join us, please bring your yoga mat with you:
